Jato 4X4 delivers agility and toughness in the most popular rc platform, 1:8 scale Buggy, that is both fun and rewarding to drive. The low-CG chassis uses its long wheelbase, wide track, performance-optimised suspension geometry and optimal low-down weight distribution to deliver quick turn-in and precise handling dynamics. As a result, Jato 4X4 handles with the precision of a race buggy and the durability of the Traxxas' toughest off-road trucks.

BL-2s Brushless System

Jato’s waterproof BL-2s 3300kv brushless power system ramps up the fun with more torque, faster acceleration, and less maintenance than comparable brushed power systems. The BL-2s is a model of efficiency and refinement, offering more power than before with the safety and convenience that only Traxxas can deliver. BL-2S has 3 easily programmable driving modes, including training mode, Thermal Shutdown Protection and Low Voltage Detection to stop your batteries from getting too low.

Standard 2075 Steering Servo

Traxxas' long time, all purpose #2075 servo comes into use again in Jato 4x4. With 9kg of torque and full waterproof sealing #2075 provides a crisp and reliable steering response.

Factory-installed Extreme Heavy Duty Upgrade components give Jato 4X4 the superior strength and durability normally associated with Traxxas’ toughest off-road trucks. An ultra-rigid T-Bar reinforces the chassis with Extreme HD shock towers to support the suspension. Huge Maxx-Duty driveshafts transfer every ounce of the motor’s torque to the wheels with unsurpassed strength.

Track-Ready Handling

Jato 4X4 sits low and wide, concentrating its weight below the driveshafts for exceptional handling and perfect weight distribution. Extra-long GTR shocks in the front and rear maximize traction by keeping Jato 4X4’s new Sledgehammer buggy tyres in constant contact with the ground. Add the optional #9098 sway bar kit for ultra-flat cornering and game-changing on-track performance.

Clipless Buggy Body

Jato 4X4’s form-fitted clipless body cuts through the wind and eliminates the parachuting effect for stable performance at speed. Tough clipless side latches hold the body securely in place but release in just seconds for fast battery swaps. Jato 4X4 incorporates the high-downforce wing from Sledge to keep its chassis planted with rugged rollover protection as an added benefit.

Heavy Duty 4x4 Driveline

Jato 4X4 uses a shaft-driven four-wheel-drive system for extreme traction in any environment. A tough center driveshaft joins the front and rear steel-gear differentials to distribute the brushless motor’s massive torque. Huge Maxx-Duty driveshafts keep power flowing to Jato’s wheels with unrivaled durability. The Extreme Heavy Duty upgrade kit fortifies Jato with a full complement of driveline and suspension parts designed to work in sync to make Jato unstoppable.

3in Buggy Wheels with Sledgehammer Tyres

Jato 4x4 rides on large 3in buggy wheels with new Sledgehammer buggy tyres for game changing stability and control. The Sledgehammers wide open block tread design won't clog up with dirt or debris and offer superior traction on all types of terrain. The wheels 17mm hex hub design create a large contact area with the driveshafts to resist rounding. 

Modular Design

Traxxas have perfected the art of modular, easy to dis-assemble design. Remove a few screws and Jato comes apart in 3 chunks for easy cleaning, maintenance and repair.

Waterproof Electronics

Traxxas make their cars as waterproof as possible, with full waterproof sealing on their ESCs, servos and receiver boxes. Waterproof means rain, snow and puddles are no obstacle to RC bashing fun. (Traxxas cars are NOT submersible).

Traxxas TQ Radio System

Traxxas TQ radio system has been around for a long time. It provides long range and short reaction time between radio and receiver, for a large range of Traxxas trucks. Comfortable hand-feel, glitch free performance and fast frame rate, who could ask a better radio.

Other Features

• High Downforce Wing, the same as the one used on Sledge, keeps all four wheels on the ground for maximum traction
• Heavy Duty Shock Towers with beefed up double shear link mounts and extra material will resist rollover damage and protect the upper shock caps with reinforced ridges
• Fixed Gear Mesh System takes the fiddly guesswork out of correctly meshing your spur and motor pinion gears. Motor plates have multiple preset gearing positions making changing gearing extra easy.
• T-Bar Chassis Stiffener, the same as the one in Sledge, removes torsional flex from the chassis when driving and is better than any round tube
• Aerodynamic Bulkhead Cover protects the lower suspension arm pins, provides mounting points for the optional sway bar set and gives Jato a smooth undertray for snag free running
• Maxx Duty Driveshafts, the same as the new ones Traxxas are putting in their 4S capable Maxx truck with beefed up u-joints and shaft diameter
• Upgraded Slipper Clutch with larger alloy pressure plates and high temp aluminium pads for superior power distribution from side to side and front to back.
  
• GTR Shocks are the peak of racing technology. Large 13mm bores hold 70% more dampening oil than Ultra Shocks for more consistent, smoother damping while x-ring seals keep the dirt out and adjustment is as simple as turning the threaded collar
  
• Battery Compartment built into the chassis with a double sided battery strap protect your Lipo batteries even in the worst crashes.
• 3-Channel Receiver with Fail Safe Security built in, will stop Jato from driving away at top speed in the event of battery failure in the radio. The receiver returns the throttle to neutral and holds the last steering position.
• Dual Steering Bellcrank Assembly with Servo saver provides zero bump steer geometry, smooth turning action and equal delivery of steering power to both front wheels whilst a heavy duty, cam style servo saver guarantees protection for the servo from impact damage.
• Extra Meaty One Piece Camber Links, really hard to damage, even in a crash, maintain the proper steering geometry and never require adjustment
  
• Rubber Sealed Bearings throughout; diffs, bellcrank and hubs, for minimal loss of power through friction.
• 32 Pitch Gearing for extra toughness in the driveline. 32P is much less likely to strip in a crash and provides a solid gear mesh.
• Metal Differentials, extra tough to handle all that power without stripping. Crown gear, pinion, spider and sun gears, all steel.
